Good morning Seahawks families!

Our first practice went really well this past week!  Although very cold, swimmers started building their endurance on kickboards and learned how to use their arms correctly to swim freestyle and backstroke.  This is just the beginning and we are excited for the growth we'll see as the season progresses.  

Our weekly theme is Seahawks Pride and our practice schedule for this week is: 

QUESTIONS/CONCERNS?

We ask that parents/guardians drop swimmers with coaches and then leave the lap area to allow swimmers to focus on coach instruction.  If you have any questions, please see a board member during practice. One of us will be available to answer questions and hand out/sell Seahawks Spirit Wear/Accessories each day.  

TIME TRIALS

We have our Time Trials meet on Saturday morning, June 7th. Time Trials is only our team and is a practice meet to get our team ready for the first official meet the following week. 

You must declare your swimmer by Tuesday 6/3 at midnight by going to our website- vouseahawks.swimtopia.com and declare whether your swimmer will be attending and what events they would like to swim.  This is located under the Meets and Events Tab.  It's also available in the app. 

VOLUNTEERS

We still need volunteers for Time Trials; specifically Timers, Clerk of Course, and Stroke and Turn Officials.  This is just a practice run for Stroke and Turn officials as nothing will be scored and no DQs will be issued.  We'll also have an experienced official from Blue Crabs helping us to answer any questions so please sign up if you are able. Each family committed to at least 4 points/shifts for the season. We cannot run a meet without you!!!  

We have a unique volunteer need that can fulfill a couple of points.  We need someone to create baskets with items donated from businesses that we will raffle off during our home meets.  If you like to put baskets together and think this would be something you could contribute for volunteer points, please let me know.

Our team suit is not mandatory but recommended.
