6/22 Seahawks LONG Weekly Email
Hi Seahawks!
This is a LONG email so bear with me as I have a ton of information to share!
MEET RECAP
We had a fantastic weekend, beginning with our Hawaiian Luau pep rally on Friday evening, followed by our first home meet of the season on Saturday morning. Thank you to all the volunteers who helped make both events a success. A special thank you to Anna Osinski, our Events Coordinator, for organizing such a fun and festive kickoff to our home meet against the Robin Meadows Racers.
Although we didn't win our meet, our swimmers continue to make tons of progress! We had 114 swimmers declare to swim in 356 events and 11 relays, achieving 123 personal best times! That's a lot to be proud of!

SEAHAWKS vs BLUE CRABS MEET INFORMATION
THEME: Our meet theme is Disney Magic so dig out your favorite Disney costumes, t-shirts, and Mickey ears.
Our away meet on June 28th is against our sister team, the Urbana Blue Crabs. Lucky us, we are only traveling to Stone Barn Pool! All of the meet information can be found here. We have the Stone Barn pool until 2:00 on Saturday for an after party with the Blue Crabs so stick around for some extra fun!
Please declare whether your swimmer is attending or not attending by Tuesday at midnight.
If you declare that you are attending but are unable to come, please let Coach Lilly know asap. When you arrive, please check in with the coaches and also let a coach know when you are leaving in case you are scheduled for a relay. We had to scratch one of our relay teams last meet because we didn't have enough swimmers.
JOBS: Please sign up to volunteer for the meet if you are able to help.
There are leadership positions we are hoping to fill for next season.
- Starter- this requires extra training and we are asking you to shadow the starter at the Blue Crabs meet on Saturday for the first half and the Barracudas home meet on July 12th for the second half. Please sign up on for the job if you are interested and reach out for more information.
- Meet Setup Coordinator- We need someone to fill the role starting next season since our lovely Jana will be retiring her role of 13 years. This person will lead the team of 8 volunteers to setup the pool deck for time trials and two home meets. We would someone to shadow Jana on July 11th.
- Meet Take Down Coordinator- Same as above except coordinate the team to put the pool back in order after time trials and our two home meets.
- Fundraising coordinator- Please let me know if you are interested as Sarah is passing the baton for next season.
- Apparel Key Volunteer-We need a volunteer to step into this role and coordinate apparel orders with Ray from Sidemind Creations for next season.
If any of these roles interest you, please let me know! The board is here to support you and would love for you to join our team!

RELAY CARNIVAL
We are excited to participate in the Eastside Splashdown, a Relay Carnival, that will be held on July 1st at 4:30 pm at Stone Barn pool. There will be 8 total teams, including ours, competing in a relay only meet. Given the number of teams involved, the number of swimmers who can participate is limited. We need to know if your swimmer is available to attend so please take a moment to indicate your availability for this meet no later than this Thursday, June 26th. Our coaches will determine who will be able to participate. Stay tuned for more information!
