MEET RECAP

That's a lot of ducks to hand out this week! We have some new All Star times which are highlighted purple for this meet. Please look over our meet results, meet summary per swimmer, and our photos. As always, we'd love to see your pictures so upload them to our google drive or tag us on Facebook or Instagram @villagesofurbanaseahawks. VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
A successful swim team relies on more than just great swimmers, it depends on committed volunteers. While our coaches and lifeguards are paid, everything else is run by a team of dedicated board members and key volunteers who give their time because they care deeply about this team and our community. We are so thankful for all of you that have stepped up to help out this season! Every contribution from volunteering during meets and events to donating donuts adds to the success of the season.
To keep the Seahawks strong and thriving, we need a few key roles filled for next season. Let’s keep this team growing together.
Each of the following roles fulfills your volunteer requirements for the season and if a board position, earns a free swimmer discount when registering.
1. Starter- (Board position) This person announces each event and heat. It requires extra training and would be helpful for someone to train during our last home meet.
2. Set up coordinator- (Key Volunteer) This person leads a team of 8 volunteers to setup the pool for time trials and our two home meets.
3.Take down coordinator- (Key Volunteer) This person leads a team of 8 volunteers to take down after each home meet.
4.Fundraising Coordinator- (Board position or Key Volunteer)- Sarah Sun has everything you need to continue a successful season for fundraising. The efforts typically start each winter and is completed before the season begins.
5. Apparel Coordinator- (Board position or Key Volunteer)- Coordinate and communicate with our apparel vendor and coordinate distribution during the swim season.
Thank you for considering and please reach out with questions!
I'll see you on deck,
Emily
