Time Trials Information

Happy Friday Seahawks!

Every Friday, when we have a swim meet on the weekend, you'll receive an email which will include where the meet will be located, what time warm ups will start, the Meet Program, the Meet Entries list, and any important information you need to know.

On Sunday, we are holding Time Trials at the Harris St Pool. Setup starts at 7:00 am, so if you signed up to volunteer for meet setup, arrive no later than 7:00. We are still in need of 1 Timer.  

Warm ups are at 8:30 so plan to arrive around 8:00 to have time for swimmer and volunteer check in and to get settled. There will be a Timer meeting at 8:30. If you took the officials training and are available, please plan to practice with the DQ process, even though we will not be recording DQs for this meet. Thank you, in advance, to all of our volunteers! We can't run meets without your help!

The heat sheet attached will show you what events your swimmer will be swimming for Time Trials. Coaches have the final say in any meet as to whether your swimmer will be approved to swim an event. This is for swimmer safety. If your swimmer wanted to swim, for example, the 100 IM but the coaches didn't feel like they were ready just yet, you might not find that event listed on the heat sheet. The Meet Program is also attached and shows the schedule for the meet, the order of events, the times from last season if available, and the heat and lanes of each swimmer. Time Trials only has 10 events and swimmers go against multiple age groups/combined boys and girls, unlike a Dual meet which has 68 events and swimmers are separated by age groups and gender. The purpose of Time Trials is to get a time so they are swimming against other swimmers with like times during our dual meets. According to this schedule, if all goes as planned, we should start at 9:00 and end by around 10:30 am. The breakdown of the meet will take place immediately after the last race kicks off.  

Junior coaches will be assigned jobs by coaches after they check in.
