Seahawks Week 4
Good evening Seahawks!
Thank you to everyone who was involved in our first away meet yesterday against the Dearbought Devilrays and Tallyn Ridge. Our team was so close to winning- just shy of 17 points. We have a lot to celebrate! Swimmers swam new events, achieved personal best times, and even All Star times! Shout out to Jonathan Lee, Ellie Fanning, Riley Knightly, Adrian Gut, Anna Voroshchuk, Nicolai Voroshchuk, Angela Xie, Beckett Scales, and Tyler Goodman for earning All Star times in the first meet of the season! You can find the All Star list of events and times here. The meet results are attached and pictures are linked here. Please feel free to upload any pictures you took and tag us on Instagram or Facebook @villagesofurbanaseahawks.
Thank you to our volunteers who stepped up to serve our community for one or both halves of the meet. "Lots of hands make light work" and we are grateful to those who helped out.
PRACTICE SCHEDULE
We have some changes to this week's schedule since school is FINALLY ending! Morning practices start on Wednesday.
Afternoon practice times will remain the same.
Beginning Wednesday, we will move from 8 lanes to 4 lanes for afternoon practices.
To ensure swimmer safety, Pre-Team will be limited to 20 swimmers in the afternoons. Swimmers who have not attended practice that day will be given priority.
Morning practices will have access to 10 lanes, including 2 lanes in the rec pool, allowing us to accommodate all swimmers. If possible, please attend morning practice when you can.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
POOL PASSES
Pool passes are required for all practices, including morning practices starting on Wednesday. This is a new requirement for our team. A guard will be present to swipe passes for ALL practice times. Please come prepared.
HOME MEET VS Whittier Riptides
Our home meet at Harris St pool will be on Saturday, June 20th. Please declare your swimmer by 10:00 am Wednesday morning. Link here
***Just a note- we had 20 swimmers declare for last weeks meet and not show. This causes a lot of unnecessary stress for our coaches and volunteer coordinator. Please let us know if you are unable to attend the meet after you declare and unable to fulfill your job that you signed up for. Swimmers who have not checked in by warm ups and have not let Coach Lilly know in advance will be scratched from the meet. Coach Lilly has to let the IT team know who is absent when warm ups are complete. Thank you, in advance!
PEP RALLY
Before each home meet, we have our pep rally at Harris St pool. This meet's theme is Summer Luau!
Please RSVP on the website to ensure we have enough pizza for all of our swimmers. Urbana HVAC will be DJing our event and has a special gift for all swimmers as well. We're going to have a great time so please plan to join!
